History
It all started in 1999 when a couple of people in Yeovil were talking about how they used to do a lot of social dancing before they became disabled and how they now missed this.
They heard about a wheelchair line dance group in the north of England and contacted them for some adapted dance instructions. A line dancer instructor who taught ordinary line dancing was willing to help and the group became the ‘Somerset Wheelers’. After a while the members became independent and started to choreograph their own dances and changed their name to High Spirits.
